Asteroids in the Bible

There are thousands of asteroids with Earth-crossing orbits which one day could threaten us with disaster. Does the Bible shed any light on this?

Don't Be Confused About Bible Prophecy Another Minute

Know the Future image Here's the Bible Prophecy breakthrough you've been waiting for—from two overlooked keys in the hard sayings of Jesus now made plain in the most accurate prophecy research available, because it departs from traditional "anything goes" allegorical interpretations which disregard Jesus' only statement on how to interpret Scripture correctly. “I've been searching all of my adult life for this kind of wisdom! I have listened to Irvin Baxter for 13 years and the Prophecy Club off and on for the same amount of time. I felt like I only had bits and pieces of the big picture. Then I hit the "wisdom and understanding jackpot" the next night when I typed "Prophecy" into a google search and out of all the sights that were available, I clicked on Tim's site first! It was like God pulled a needle out of a haystack for me in answer to my prayer from the day before!”

It's funny, but if you asked most Christians they might tell you that the Bible says nothing about an asteroid hitting us. Prophecy is just not their strong suite nor have most Christians read the entire Bible cover to cover. So they rely on what they hear about prophecy in sermons at church, which is not much.

Nevertheless, the last book of the Bible does have a lot of information on asteroids and other celestial objects threatening Earth. It says we'll be hit, not just by one asteroid, but by enough meteorites to cause all the grass on Earth to be burned up. You can read about this in Revelation 6-8.

When will it happen? It does not say right there, but the Bible does give you plenty of clues on when it happens in relation to Daniel's 70th week and Armageddon. From this you can even figure out what years this can happen, and which years it absolutely cannot. I've put these clues together and explaiined the timing in my book Planet X in Bible Prophecy (renamed Know the Future) for those who are interested.

Every time one of these asteroids is discovered to be passing close by, like 2004 XP14 on July 3, 2006, we might consider them as shots across the bow. God may be trying to remind us to read our Bibles more and prepare ourselves so that we might be able to escape all these things and stand before the Son of Man.
